Meet Buster or as I sometimes fondly refer to him as “Busta”- a young boy of no more than three years of age.

I met Buster at an animal control shelter.  Due to Buster’s overall weakened condition and skin issues he was immediately put on the shelter’s ‘B’ list.

The problem was that during the 10 day holding period he won the hearts of several shelter workers.  They took mercy on this kind and gentle man.  He was too weak to vaccinate, so he remained in isolation for the duration of his month long stay.  One of the workers called Mastiff Rescue and we were able to get this guy on a real road to recovery.

Buster had gained about 10 lbs. in the shelter.  He has gained about another 8 pounds in the three weeks he has been with me. He is now up to 130.

We’ll never know what happened to Buster or what he went through before finding a safe haven.  However, he was loved somewhere sometime.  Everything about his behavior reflects he was owned by someone who loved him.  He walks on a leash, sits, and downs.  He loves ice cubes.  He is well behaved in the house and car.  Oh, by the way he loves to ride.  I have a cat which he completely ignores.  He politely asks to go outside and is just as polite about coming back in.

Buster has a few health issues that need resolution, but nothing that cannot be addressed.

This is an incredible animal.

These pictures were taken after Buster has had some hair regrowth and about 20 pounds added.  I deliberately did not take earlier pictures as he was just too pitiful.  Better to really see his possibilities in the future rather than see the past.

submit an adoption application mentioning him specifically by name and state.
