Fawn Females 3.5 yrs   Good Great with two year old foster family's child Cautious when meeting new dogs- distrustful but warms up and does well unknown Good

All dogs must be on monthly   heartworm  preventative

Lexxus is a mini-mastiff, only around 75 pounds, but she has the heart and soul of a normal, sized giant dog.  If you have concerns about the size of a mastiff but want the temperament of a Mastiff, Lexxus may be the dog for you.

While physically she isn’t the most impressive foster we’ve had, she is a beautiful, small girl.  She is very, very gentle, super obedient, she has excellent house manners, and she is a settled dog, who loves a romp in the pasture, but also enjoys just sleeping on the couch beside her people while you watch TV.

She is good with children even as young as 2 years old, men and women.  She does have a strong prey drive and will chase other animals if they run from her.  She should be strictly supervised with a cat and will take some time to be introduced to a family's existing dogs- but warms up fine after she is given time and space initially to get acquainted properly. She has interacted very well with a smaller, equally gentle dog, but she has some scars from an old fight and if a dog moves toward her aggressively she will respond likewise.

Being small, she doesn’t drool as much as a more standard Mastiff.  While on a walk, she throws herself on the ground and rolls on her back just squirming with the joy of being alive—I’ve even seen her roll off a small earthen damn, wiggling and wagging during the five-foot slide to the ground.

Lexxus has been successfully treated for heartworms and appears to be about 3 years old. Currently she is very healthy, loves to run loose in our pasture and comes when she’s called in a way to make an obedience trainer proud.  She is very attuned to the people in her life, just a short click will make her turn away from something you don’t want her to sniff.  She watches your face closely, and with her innate understanding of how to act with people, would probably make a good therapy dog
