• If you are looking for an 'inexpensive' puppy, SSMR Rescue is not the place to find one since we rarely if ever get puppies.

If you are looking for a Mastiff mix- you will not find one here since we only take in purebred Mastiffs.

• IF you are looking to provide an outstanding home to a Mastiff in need, you will not be disappointed!

Mastiffs grow until they are four years of age. Although a happy-go-lucky adolescent is sometimes available, most of the dogs in our program are between the ages of two and seven and no matter what age, they all come with 'baggage'.

These dogs are given up for a variety of reasons ranging from cruel and inhumane treatment , to family tragedies, to indifference and misinformation. Many of the Mastiffs will have behavioral, emotional or health issues that must be addressed and dealt with by their adopting families. Through love, attention, and most importantly, proper (and sometimes intensive) training, these dogs can become the treasured companion you have hoped for.

Adopting a Mastiff from SSMR is not an overnight event. You must be patient and allow us to help match your family with the right dog for you and your lifestyle. This takes time and a great deal of effort from our dedicated volunteers.

We will check your references and evaluate your home before placement. If you wait until 'just the right dog' appears on our website, you may miss the opportunity to adopt the Mastiff of your dreams who is waiting patiently for YOU to be their FOREVER HOME.
