Sasha is only a one-year old puppy- but somehow she 'overdid' it on her knee and now must have knee surgery. The good news is she will likely be totally normal after recovery. However must be given that chance....can you help?

Sasha is a beautiful one year old brindle Mastiff puppy girl.

She came from a very sad family who was in the process of losing their home. They could no longer afford to feed a Mastiff any longer and Sasha had not been fed literally in days maybe even weeks.

She was also filthy and littered with fleas and ticks due to their inability to afford that preventative too.

The family had nothing in their home left to sell.

But they did the right thing by contacting SSMR to come save their dog. They did give Sasha a chance and for that we are thankful.

Once she was adjusted at her foster family's home- she started limping.

X-Rays were done and it looks like she will need cruciate ligament (knee) surgery.

This type of surgery can cost anywhere from $2,000 to $4,000 if there are no complications. But she should be as good as new after the recovery period. She will need to be kept quiet and on highly restricted activity for up to twelve weeks following the surgery for best healing- depending on what the recommendations of the surgeon will be. But that is common.
