Hi, I’m Sophie. I’m 4 ½ year old
lovable girl whose owner passed away
recently.
The people that were supposed to
take care of me didn’t want me and
surrendered me to a kill shelter.
Thank goodness I was rescued in the
nick of time by an SSMR volunteer.
Now I have a chance at a new life-
but have to admit that I’m a bit
depressed after all I have gone
through.
I
just really need to find that
someone that wants to love me
forever.
I need to eat lots of yummy food and
gain some much needed weight, but
other than that I think I’m pretty
healthy. I need LOTS of love and
attention….I love to lay by your
feet and get scratches behind the
ears. I love to play with my
foster brothers and sister
dogs….they are lots of fun. I was
raised with a companion dog, but
he’s not with me anymore…so if you
have another dog, I would love to
play with them. I sure like kids
too…my tail wags when I get happy….I
get a little excited though, so
maybe I’d be better with older
kids….I don’t want to accidentally
knock a little one over…but it
wouldn’t be on purpose if I did.
I
am learning my manners again, as I
think I forgot some of them while I
was on the streets, but I’m learning
VERY quickly. But I do know to
potty outside and never potty in the
house. I love to sleep on the nice
soft bed. Do you want to love me
forever?
AN UPDATE ON SOPHIE FROM HER FOSTER
MOM
"I am fostering Sophie in Milton. I
just wanted to let you know she went
to the vet on Saturday and she is HW
NEGATIVE! I started her on Hw
preventatives on Sunday. She was
given a 5 way vaccination at the
shelter and received her rabies shot
on Saturday. She also was wormed, as
they only thing they could find
were a few hook worms. We also need
to update the site to show that she
is great with both sexes of dogs. So
far, she is the most docile mastiff
I have ever seen.
Any of the dogs at my house can
stick their head in her food bowl
and she will not react. All she does
is stand there and let them eat. She
is also great in the house - has not
had one accident nor has she
bothered anything. She never
meets a stranger - loves all
people including children and got
along with every dog at the vet's
office. She is so laid back and does
not stress about anything.
She will even go out and potty
in a tropical storm without a second
thought. She also has gotten used to
my cat and should be fine with any
cat after a brief get to know
you period.
She should make a wonderful addition
to any household! "
